5/23/2025 South Korea (International Christian Concern) — The Korea Israel Bible Institute (KIBI) opened South Korea’s first-ever Holocaust Museum in Palu, near the North and South Korean border.

KIBI members hoped that the museum would serve as a space for education and moral reflection, encouraging visitors to consider how historical memory can prevent hatred and violence in the present day. Holocaust remembrance museums or events are not common in East Asia and Southeast Asia.

“Amid rising antisemitism globally, this is a hugely significant move by KIBI and the South Korean people to ensure the horrors of the Holocaust are shared and remembered in Korean society,” an International Christian Concern (ICC) staffer said. “With multitudes of Christians being consistently and savagely persecuted and pressured in neighboring North Korea and right across East Asia and Southeast Asian nations, ICC hopes the opening of South Korea’s first Holocaust museum will continue to highlight persecution and religious freedoms issues in these regions.”
