Demand Justice: Sign the Petition for the Release of Four Christian Pastors in Eritrea
Who Are they?
For more than 20 years, four courageous Christian pastors have been unjustly detained in Eritrea without charges. Their crime? Practicing their faith and serving their communities. We invite you to join us in calling for their immediate release.
- Pastor Haile Naizghe: A former senior accountant with World Vision who dedicated his life to spiritual care.
- Dr. Kiflu Gebremeskel: A mathematics lecturer with a Ph.D. from the United States, committed to education and faith.
- Pastor Meron Gebreselasie: An anesthetist who provided critical medical care to his neighbors.
- Pastor Kidane Weldou: A secondary school biology teacher who inspired many through his teaching and leadership.
These men were arrested in the early 2000s for their leadership in local churches. Instead of fostering their invaluable contributions to Eritrean society, they remain imprisoned under appalling conditions. Reports indicate that Pastor Kidane is suffering from severe eye problems, while Pastor Gebremeskel battles stress-related hypertension and diabetes due to the inhumane living conditions.

February 18, 2025 Update
- Dr. Reverend Tekleab lost his eyesight due to severe diabetes and not getting the proper treatment. He also suffers from high blood pressure.
- Pastor Kidane also lost his eyesight due to diabetes. These two are in a very critical condition physically.
- Dr. Kiflu Gebremeskel has serious blood pressure, and he is in a poor health situation.
- Haile Nayzgi has severe skin problems, and he has been suffering for a long time.
