The Gift of Hope in the Middle East
09/30/2024 Middle East (International Christian Concern) – Soon after Ahmed Saad left Islam to follow Jesus, he shared his faith with a Muslim woman he worked with. She put her trust in Christ, and eventually, they married and had a son. But when their son turned 1, Saad’s wife decided to return to Islam and left him.
One day, as Saad continued to care for his son, he received a devastating diagnosis. He had developed kidney fibrosis. Doctors had to remove his left kidney. Following the surgery, Saad was unable to continue his job.
In need of income, Saad dreamed of buying a motorcycle and joining a local transportation company, but he had no money. Then, an International Christian Concern (ICC) staffer heard his story. When ICC presented Saad with a motorcycle, his eyes welled with tears. Suddenly, he could earn income to pay for his medications, rent, and bills and provide for his son.
“I would like to thank you for what you have done for me,” Saad said. “I have been praying for my son, and my concern in life is to meet his needs. All the difficult things that I went through were like a test of my faith, especially after my wife left me and returned to Islam, but who shall separate us from the love of Christ?”
