08/14/2021 Washington D.C. (International Christian Concern) – Mukhles, who was born with a disability that left him mute and deaf, lives in Qeraqosh, Iraq with his wife. Following their displacement by ISIS, they eventually returned to Qeraqosh in 2017. Upon their return, they found that the car which Mukhles previously used to sell coffee, tea, and juice was stolen.

Since then, he has been using an auto-rickshaw to sell his goods, but now he suffers from back pain which makes driving the auto-rickshaw difficult.

In order to restore Mukhles’s business, ICC provided a used vehicle so that he can continue serving his customers in a way that doesn’t compromise his health. Since his children are grown, he does not have to generate a large income to support himself and his wife. This small business also gives him the flexibility to work as needed.
