02/27/2019 Washington D.C. (International Christian Concern) – Imagine stepping outside of your door anticipating that you may be persecuted for preaching the Gospel. For pastors in India, this is their reality. In addition, many Indian pastors have little access to reliable transportation as they attempt to minister in rural and unreached communities. They also struggle to afford copies of the Bible to share with new converts.

Recognizing these challenges, International Christian Concern (ICC) launched an initiative to provide a brand new bicycle and 100 Bibles each to 1,000 persecuted pastors and evangelists in rural communities across India. ICC called this campaign the Bibles and Bikes for India initiative.

To fund this bold initiative, ICC called on its donors to help raise $200,000, representing one of ICC’s biggest fundraising campaigns to date!

Since the campaign launched in November 2018, ICC has already reached the halfway mark for funding with ICC’s generous donors contributing more than $100,000 to the Bibles and Bikes for India initiative.

In addition, ICC has already started equipping pastors and evangelists across India. In the first phase of implementing the Bibles and Bikes for India initiative, ICC equipped rural pastors and evangelists in six of India’s 29 states, including Telangana, Odisha, Jharkhand, Chhattisgarh, Uttar Pradesh, and Andhra Pradesh.

The first phase of implementation was a huge success and ICC’s faithful donors helped make that happen!

Soon, ICC will be implementing more phases of the Bibles and Bikes for India initiative. New states will be impacted and literally hundreds of pastors and evangelists will be equipped to help spread the message of Jesus Christ. Each day is uncertain. James 4:14 (ESV) says, “Yet you do not know what tomorrow will bring. What is your life? For you are a mist that appears for a little time and then vanishes.” The pastors and evangelists ICC is equipping know this and live a life that recognizes that their time on earth is temporary. They preach the Gospel boldly and faithfully. The Bibles and Bikes for India initiative simply provides them with better resources to do the ministry God has called them to.
