11/17/2018 Sudan (International Christian Concern) – Last month a group of 13 Christian converts were arrested in Darfur, Sudan. The Christians were arrested and reportedly tortured. Several Christians were released shortly after their arrest, but the rest remained in custody until recently when they were all released.

The group of Christians were taken from a home in southwest Darfur after they converted from Islam to Christianity. They were arrested and were punished for apostasy with the hopes that after torture some would convert back to Islam.

Sudan continues to rank fourth on Open Door’s World Watch list for one of the most difficult places to be a Christian. Sudan, remains under Sharia law, making life difficult for Christians and Christian converts.
