ICC Note:

Christians in Burma have been under attack for many years. Their churches and other places of worship have been destroyed, forcing them to relocate and leaving everything they know or have behind. In some areas of the country, the police forces Christians to remove anything that represents their faith and demand them to replace it with Buddhist symbols instead.

10/21/2017 Burma (CNA) – Pope Francis’ trip to Burma will help heal the wounds of his country, especially for minorities under attack, the nation’s sole cardinal maintains.

Cardinal Charles Maung Bo of Yangon is the first Burmese cardinal in the history of the Church. He was made a cardinal by Pope Francis in 2015.
