ICC Note:
ICC partner, China Aid, has awarded the wife of an imprisoned Christian human rights lawyer with the Courage Award for Defense of Religious Freedom in China. Jin Bianling, the wife of Jiang Tianyong, has fought hard for the release of her husband from detention. Jin said, “Hope in Christ is far beyond our experience. It is not about regaining what we lost… We need to know the fact that God will always be with us, even during human rights disasters.” China has worked hard to detain human rights defenders who protect the rights of Christians and the oppressed in China. A crackdown spanning the last few years has seen the arrest and disappearance of scores of lawyers like Jiang.
