Bring Back Our Girls Group Concerned with Boko Haram Attacks
ICC Note: Members of the Bring Back Our Girls Group are worried over the series of attacks carried out by the Islamic group of Boko Haram. A few weeks ago the terrorist group agreed to release 21 of the Chibok girls in exchange for some of their imprisoned fighters. However, it was reported that Boko Haram had attacked a town that is a few miles away from Chibok town a few days later. Additionally, at least 83 soldiers are still missing from Boko Haram’s attack on Monday, October 17th, 2016. The terrorist group is also responsible for the brutal attacks against Christians in the area who continue to be a persecuted minority because of their faith.
10/25/2016, Nigeria (Today Nigeria) – The #BringBackOurGirls BBOG) group has expressed worry over the recent spate of attacks by Boko Haram sect even as the military has assured that the war against the Boko Haram sect has been won.
Speaking during the group’s sit-out, yesterday, one of its members, Tsambido Hosea-Abana expressed sadness over the recent attack by Boko Haram in a village close to Chibok, Borno State.
It was reported that some Boko Haram members attacked Goptari, 10 kilometers from Chibok and looted food supplies and livestock meant for internally displaced persons (IDPs).
