Congregation, women, children beaten in east India village
ICC Note: In east India, 50 anti-Christian extremists interrupted a church service and began beating the members with sticks, including the women and children. They then demanded that the Christians leave the village. As religious freedom increasingly deteriorates in India, Christians are consistently becoming the targets of extremists groups. Many of these groups feel that the silence of the Indian government indicates its approval for their violent actions.
7/17/2016 India (Mission Network News) – Recently, 50 anti-Christian extremists attacked a congregation of believers as they were worshipping at a church in east India.
Grand Rapids, Michigan-based Mission India heard of the situation after their church planting partner, Biren, was one of the congregation members who was attacked.
The extremists assaulted and beat everyone in the church — including women and children — with sticks and rods.
