What does a typical day look like for an ICC team on the field? It usually starts early, checking the latest news, touching base with local contacts, and making any last minute arrangements. After meeting first with a local partner and discussing the needs of the persecuted church in that area, the team will go to meet directly with victims of persecution, recording their stories and assessing how best ICC will be able to assist. Countless hours of travel by plane, taxi, bus, boat, metro, and on foot, are standard, as is at least half a dozen cups of tea. The team usually finishes the day working late into the night, compiling reports and updating home base on the latest developments. Though challenging, the opportunity to work directly with the persecuted church is highly rewarding, and many of us will never forget the time we were able to spend with faithful believers from across the world.
