After more than 100 days in captivity, US surveillance drones which flew over north-eastern Nigeria have identified what suggests to be more than 240 schoolgirls abducted by Boko Haram in April. In the immediate aftermath of the abduction, human rights and religious freedom advocates, social media moguls, and government officials alike pledged their support to find and safely return those abducted. Over time though, #BringBackOurGirls slipped from Twitter’s trending hashtags, and the government statements of support went without follow-up. More than 20 parents of those abducted have died from stress-related incidents while waiting anxiously for their daughters’ return. Please pray for over 200 girls who remain missing.
