A Mother’s Prayer: Helping Vulnerable New Believers Find Confidence in Christ
11/25/2024 Middle East (International Christian Concern) – Nima, a widow living with her son, once worked as a vegetable seller and house cleaner. Her life took a painful turn when her daughter converted to Islam and married a Muslim man, causing shame in her community. “What my daughter did broke my heart, and I have suffered greatly because of her. I want to find a job to support my son, and I fear that he will do the same as his sister,” Nima told ICC. Facing pressure to convert and fearing for her son’s future, Nima struggled deeply.
With ICC’s help, Nima and her son moved to a safe Christian community. ICC also helped her start a small business, allowing her to provide for her family and pay rent. “Every time we went to buy something, Nima would always cry with joy and could not believe what the Lord had given her,” said an ICC staffer implementing the project.
Before she received ICC’s help, Nima said she never could have dreamed of becoming a business owner. She said she’s thankful for all that God has blessed her with.
“God never forgot me and gave me the business through which I was able to rent an apartment for my son and I to live. I would like to thank you for standing by me and changing my circumstances,” Nima said. “Because of you, I have begun to see a ray of light after living in darkness. I can’t believe I have a business, and when I unlock the store door, I thank God for his blessing. Please pray for my daughter to return to Christ.”
