09/11/2022 DRC (International Christian Concern) – On the evening of Wednesday, September 7, militants belonging to the terror group Allied Democratic Forces (ADF) killed five civilians in an attack in the eastern Democratic Republic of Congo.

The civilians were taken hostage during a skirmish with the Congolese army. According to a military spokesperson, “After clashes with the army, these jihadists fled. Unfortunately, they executed five civilian hostages.”

The attack took place in the embattled province of North Kivu, where clashes between the ADF and government forces have displaced many civilians.

The ADF is an extremist group affiliated with ISIS that is the most violent of the over 120 armed groups currently active in the eastern DRC. ICC has previously reported on the brutal crimes the group has committed against Congolese civilians, including many Christians.

Please pray for those who are suffering from violence and persecution in the DRC.
