07/10/2022 Indonesia (International Christian Concern) – The non-profit organization Aksi Crept Tanggap (ACT) has been accused of using donation money to fund terrorism.

Officials caught executives of the company spending large sums of donation money on personal homes and cars. The money used is suspected of financing the terrorist group al-Qaeda, according to Social Affairs Minister Muhadjir Effendi.

Last week, ACT President Ibnu Khajar admitted that the organization’s operating costs exceeded 10%, breaking Indonesian law. Due to this excessive and highly suspicious spending, the organization’s sixty bank accounts have been suspended.

“Based on our analysis and investigation coordinated with other (security) agencies, we suspect ACT breached the law,” said Indonesian Financial Transaction Reports and Analysis Center’s chief aid Ivan Yustiavandana.

The organization’s spending habits have been under investigation since 2018. At the time, nineteen workers suspected of having ties with terrorist organizations were accused and arrested for moving funds worth approximately $510,000.
