Official Christian Organizations Hold National Security Workshop in Shandong

04/25/2022 China (International Christian Concern) – The Lianghui in Shandong province, namely the China Christian Council (CCC) and the Three-Self Patriotic Movement (TSPM) recently held a “General Public National Security Education Day” to strengthen the national security awareness of Christian leaders.
On April 19, the Shandong Lianghui held the workshop with the aim to “firm up the overall national security perspective, learn the achievement of national security in the new era, in order to create a great atmosphere ahead of the party’s 20th National Congress.” More than 40 Lianghui staff and Christian leaders attended the workshop.
According to Gospel Times, the director of Shandong TSPM, Pastor Gao Ming, said that this learning practice is intended to make everyone aware of the importance of national security, strengthen the awareness of safeguarding national security so that one would maintain national security naturally in daily life and at work.
The vice director of Shandong Lianghui, Pastor Wu Jianyin, agreed that he and his team would actively boost the learning of regulations such as “PRC’s National Security Law,” “Anti-Secession Law,” “PRC’s National Defense Law,” “Measures for the Financial Management of Venues for Religious Activities,” and “Shandong Province Regulations on Religious Affairs” through all the churches in Shandong. They will raise awareness of law and security, and diligently maintain religious harmony, national security, and social stability.
Lianghui in China is controlled by the Chinese government and often pushes the Chinese Communist Party (CCP)’s agenda. In recent years, Lianghui often holds events and workshops that are in line with the CCP’s policy direction.
