01/08/2022 Greece (International Christian Concern) – Turkey violated Greek airspace 37 times on Epiphany, despite a previous agreement to respect major national and religious holidays. Turkey and Greece agreed, according to the Confidence Building Measures, to avoid military actions out of respect. On January 6, the day that Eastern Christians celebrate the manifestation of Christ, Turkey entered Greek airspace several times with F-16 fighter jets and CN 235.

Greek Orthodox culture has largely been removed in historic parts of Turkey, including the crumbling of the Greek Orthodox orphanage and the continued 50-year closure of Halki Seminary.
