05/31/2021 India (International Christian Concern) – “We as a family struggled to cope with the lockdown,” Anjali Nag recently told International Christian Concern (ICC). “ICC provided us food aid for two months. We are grateful to God and the brothers and sisters who thought about us during these challenging times.

Anjali is an evangelist from the Indian state of Odisha. Her family depended on the tithes of church members for their livelihood but lost everything when the pandemic shut down worship services and dwindled their support. Her family came close to starvation.

We even could not ask for help from anybody,” Anjali said. “It was hard to see a shortage of food for our children. We managed with the little that we had and prayed hard every day.

God answered their prayers, and this presented them with an incredible opportunity to share the light of Christ with their Hindu neighbors.

With extra ICC food aid, the family extended their food to a Hindu family in a similar food crisis. The gesture touched them, and they wanted to know more about the faith that Anjali’s family had. “I was amazed at how God uses difficult situations to bring people to himself, and we celebrate God’s provision,” Anjali said as she thanked ICC and the donors who gave to ICC’s COVID-19 Crisis Fund.
