04/16/2021 Indonesia (International Christian Concern) – A terrorist suspect allegedly linked to a suicide bombing at a Catholic cathedral in Makassar in South Sulawesi province on Palm Sunday, was shot dead by the Indonesian police on April 15, since he attempted to attack the police with two machetes during the arrest.

The police anti-terror squad Densus 88 shot dead the 49-year-old man, identified only as MT, during a raid on his home in Makassar, after they made arrests in several cities over the past two weeks of 31 other suspects linked to the attack. The alleged bomb-maker was among those arrested.

According to UCA News, South Sulawesi police spokesman E. Zulpan said the killed suspect and those arrested were from the Jamaah Ansharut Daulah (JAD) network, a terror group linked to Islamic State, and were part of a cell the cathedral bombers — a married couple — were also members of.

The married couple — Muh Lukman, 26, and wife Yogi Sahfitri Fortuna aka Dewi, blew themselves up at the entrance of Cathedral Church in Makassar on March 28. The attack killed the two bombers and injured at least 20 churchgoers, security guards, and bystanders.
