04/08/2021 Iraq (International Christian Concern) –  During Pope Francis’ recent visit to Iraq, he let a $350,000 donation designated to families in need across the country. Iraqi Chaldean Patriarch, Cardinal Louis Raphael Sako, released a letter of gratitude thanking the Pope for his visit and gift.

Pope Francis’ visit alone brought hope to many Christians in the region, showing that they were not forgotten and a better future is hopefully coming. His donation to the region brings hope for sustenance for many families as well. The majority of the funds will be distributed from Baghdad, while about 1/7th will be administered via the Chaldean archdiocese of Mosul and another 1/7th via the Syrian Catholic archdiocese of Qaraqosh. So far, nearly 12,000 food packages have already been distributed.
