02/15/2021 Syria (International Christian Concern) –  The Syriac Catholic Archbishop of Damsucs, is appealing to Syrian Catholics and refugees to return home. Archbishop Battah commented saying that Christians can and should play a key role in rebuilding the country and promoting unity among a religiously and ethnically diverse community.

Nearly a decade has passed since the start of the Syrian war that prompted more than 6.7 million people to flee the country. About 3.6 million Syrians registered as residing in Turkey, and the remaining majority settling elsewhere in the Middle East.

Meanwhile, Turkish-backed groups are skirmishing with the Syriac Military Council in the predominately Assyrian town of Tel Tamr. The Syrian National Army invaded the northeast region in October 2019 and skirmishes have broken out since then.
