08/19/2019 Indonesia (International Christian Concern) – The wall of Syaloom Church Bethel Indonesia (GBI) at Solo, Surakarta in central Java was found to have been torn down on Monday afternoon. Though the perpetrator has not been identified, this was allegedly related to a land dispute which is currently being handled by the Solo Police.

Head of Gilingan Village, Budi Prasetyo, said it was not clear how the wall of the fence was destroyed or who was the culprit. “Next thing I know was that it was torn down, not knowing who the culprit was,” Budi explained to reporters on Monday afternoon.

Meanwhile, the police who received the report immediately came to secure the location. City police superintendent Andy Rifai, who also went to check on the church, told reporters that the GBI Syaloom land was indeed in dispute.

“Indeed the land and buildings are in dispute, and [this case] is already in the process of [being mediated by] the police. We hope that both parties respect the legal process, instead of mobilizing the masses,” said Andy.

When asked who the perpetrators of the church wall might be, Andy did not answer directly. “We will know more once the police finish the investigation,” he said in response.
