02/11/2019 Washington D.C. (International Christian Concern) – Experiencing persecution can have lifelong repercussions for both the victims and the eyewitnesses of violence. This was the reality for a church in Indonesia after a young man walked into their service with a gun, threatening to attack. Immediately after hearing the threats, church members began to flee. During the attack, four members of the church were injured, along with a police officer.

Months after the attack, the church remained traumatized and full of anxiety, with nowhere to go to receive counseling. ICC stepped in to help the victims of the attack by providing them with a counseling room inside the church to provide church members, along with other members of the community, with a safe place to process their trauma with a counselor.
