Boko Haram Kills 2, Injures 3 in Ambush

Boko haram killed two more people and injured three others during an ambush along the Damaturu- Biu road Sunday afternoon, August, 20, 2017. In the past two months, Boko Haram has seen a resurgence in attacks and have killed more than 150 people. All of this has been going on while the president of Nigeria has been calling for the Army to catch and kill Abubakar Shekau, the Leader of Boko Haram. 

2017-08-21 Nigeria (DailyPost) Two persons have been confirmed dead with three others seriously injured following an ambush by suspected Boko Haram terrorists along Damaturu, Biu road Sunday afternoon.

A military source, who spoke on condition of anonymity, disclosed that the insurgents had buried IEDs along the highway.

It was gathered that the travelers, who took off from Damaturu on their way to Biu, were ambushed some 60 kilometres to their destination.

According to the source, the militants opened fire indiscriminately on the travelers and that in an attempt to escape, the IEDs went off killing two persons on the spot.

Another report said three people injured from the attack were rushed to the Damaturu specialists’ hospital by security forces on patrol along the road.

According to a hospital source at the Accident and Emergency ward of the Damaturu Hospital, three people have been treated and referred to the Federal Medical Centre Gombe on their relative request.
