Nigerian Major and Captain Leak Information to Boko Haram

ICC Note: At least 83 soldiers went missing and 13 wounded during Boko Haram’s attack on Nigerian troops on October 22, 2016. After a discreet investigation, the Nigerian army accused and arrested a Major and Captain for leaking vital information regarding the movement of the soldiers to the Islamic fighters. After the release of the 21 Chibok girls, Boko Haram has carried out an attack against Nigerian soldiers and another one in the town of Goptari, which is only 6 miles away from Christian town of Chibok.

10/27/2016, Nigeria (Daily Post) – The Nigerian Army has arrested a major and a captain for alleged sabotage of the ongoing counter-terrorism operations in the North-East.

The Army, it was gathered, opened a discreet investigation into the activities of some of its personnel following the Boko Haram attack on troops’ location in Gashigar, on October 22, 2016.

No fewer than 13 soldiers were wounded, while others were missing, during a surprise Boko Haram attack on troops at Gashigar, in the north of Borno State.
