Church in India Stoned During Sunday Worship

St. Thomas Evangelical Church in India had its Sunday worship service disturbed when an unidentified woman entered the church and began verbally abusing the church’s pastor. According to witnesses, the woman used filthy language with the pastor. Later, an unidentified individual pelted the church with stones. Attacks on Christians and their places of worship in India have dramatically increased as religious intolerance has also grown. Many attribute this rise in intolerance to the ruling BJP because of their Hindu nationalist platform and their inability to confront Hindu radical groups operating in India.
10/20/2016 India (ICAN) – The St. Thomas Evangelical Church of India was stoned, while the Sunday worship was going on. Regular worship services have been conducted on the first floor of this rented accommodation for the past four years.
It was during the service that a woman entered the hall and started to abuse Pastor Nitin Atkur and the Christians present in filthy language. She left the place immediately after.
A little while later, an attendant informed the Pastor that someone has been pelting stones at the Church hall.
