ICC Note:

The release of the 21 Chibok girls,  is a cause for praise of our God. While a small victory in light of the many who are still in captivity, ICC recognizes the difficult negotiations and decisions taken by various government and and non government organizations.  Our correspondent in Nigeria, who has been in contact with the parents asks for prayer  when they travel to Abuja to reunite with their daughters. This is a beginning of a long road as they try to reconstruct their lives . A parent of one of the Chibok girl also told him they were “exchanged for four Boko Haram prisoners”.

10/13/2016 Nigeria (NAJI) –  Sahara Reporters is reporting that the captured Chibok girls were released after a prisoner swap with the Nigerian government. It quoted an unnamed Boko Haram commander as making the revelation but did not say which prisoners were swapped for the girls.

According to the presidency, the girls release was facilitated by a collaboration between the International Red Cross, the Swiss government and the Nigerian government.
