ICC Note: Kenyan authorities have determined that the cause of death for murdered Christian attorney Willie Kimani and two of his associates killed was blunt force trauma to the head and strangulation. Kimani was a lawyer investigating police corruption with International Justice Mission (IJM) who went missing on June 23 and whose body was discovered with those of Joseph Muiruri and Josephat Mwenda lying in a Nairobi-area river. One of IJM’s primary missions is to rescue people from sex trafficking, which forms one of the most horrific ways Christians face persecution around the world.

7/8/16 Kenya (AllAfrica) – Lawyer Willie Kimani, his client and taxi driver who were all found murdered last Friday were hit by blunt objects and strangulated, a post-mortem report shows.

Mr Kimani, according to the Chief Government Pathologist, was hit on the back of his head several times and sustained a fracture of the skull.

The taxi driver Joseph Muiruri was found to have been strangled and also had injuries on the head believed to have been caused by a blunt object.

The client, Mr Josphat Mwenda, who detectives from the Homicide Department at the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) headquarters believe was the main target, suffered the most injuries.

He had injuries on the head, neck and chest. His skull was fractured and blood was found in his chest cavity.

Dr Oduor said that the CT scan did not reveal other injuries.
