ICC Note: Iraqi forces are preparing to retake Mosul in the Nineveh Governate in Iraq to drive out ISIS forces.  In preparation for this massive operation, the government dropped “pamphlets” from airplanes over civilian areas to warn them of the impending invasion and assured them that liberation from ISIS and radical Islamic forces is near. ICC has reported that Mosul does not have a single Christian remaining in its, once dense, population.  They all fled or were forcibly displaced.

3/6/2016 Mosul, Iraq (AINA) – Iraqi jets dropped millions of leaflets over areas under Islamic State (IS) control Saturday (March 5), warning residents in Mosul, Fallujah and Haditha of impending military operations to drive militants out.

Iraq’s Ministry of Defense announced the pamphlets urged locals to prepare for operations and promised liberation of the areas.

“Iraqi air force planes dropped millions of leaflets which provided guidance to citizens and promised them for the coming end of the Daesh terrorists in Mosul,” the ministry’s media department said, referring to IS by an Arabic acronym.
