Son of Kidnapped Burkina Faso Missionaries Pleads for Their Release
ICC Note: Islamist terrorists from Al Qaeda of the Islamic Maghreb (AQIM) have abducted an octogenarian missionary couple from northern Burkina Faso and now, their son is calling for their release. The abduction of Ken and Jocelyn Elliot happened on the same day that AQIM took responsibility for a deadly terrorist attack, murdering 28 people at a hotel in Burkina Faso’s capital Ouagadougou. Among the killed in the attack included seven Christian missionaries. Stephen Elliot has thanked the Burkinabe people for their love and compassion following the kidnapping.

1/21/16 Djibo, Burkina Faso (Christian Today) – The son of kidnapped missionaries Ken and Jocelyn Elliott has pleaded for their release as the elderly couple’s whereabouts remain unknown.
Stephen Elliott and his two siblings grew up in northern Burkina Faso with their parents, who built and ran a hospital in the small northern town of Djibo. He pleaded with the kidnappers for the safe release of Ken and Jocelyn and thanked the Burkinabe people for their support.
“On behalf of our family I wish to express our gratitude for the messages of encouragement we have been receiving from around Australia and abroad during this difficult time,” he told The Australian.
