Answering the Call in Kyrgyzstan
ICC is supporting native pastors and missionaries throughout the Middle East and Central Asia. Here is one encouraging testimony from a partner doing an incredible work in Kyrgyzstan.
The minister wrote:
In the evening, we heard knocking on the door of our office. We opened and there was Taalai with his friend Zalker who is not a believer. We met Taalai, who had recently been saved, on our website. We were so glad that he invited Zalkar to our meeting.
A joyful noise filled the room. We roasted sausages in the kitchen as we greeted newcomers. All the brothers gathered to eat dinner at the men’s meeting. One brother prayed with a loud voice before we dug into our dinner. After tea and coffee were served, jokes were flying around the room from one brother to the other. All the room filled with laughter. Next, we sat around the table to play a game. Everyone wanted to be the winner thinking that he’d the lucky guy tonight. One brother loudly announced, “Let the craftiest win!” You wouldn’t believe how curious Zalkar was about our fellowship. He had expected alcohol and cigarettes. He was surprised to find that we didn’t even swear!
As the brother on duty washed dishes, Zalkar approached him and asked, “Where can I smoke here?” With a plate in one hand and a foamy sponge in another, he answered, “It is not allowed to smoke here. This is sanctuary!” He then began to tell him the Gospel. Nearly a half hour past before Zalkar heard ‘The Call.’ “Do you want to accept Jesus Christ and to follow Him?” With no hesitation, Zalkar answered, “Yes!”
