Independent church in Korakandamulla, Matugama attacked.
A group of masked men attacked an Independent church in Korakandamulla, close to Matugama in Kalutara District on the night of 1st November 2004. At about 3.15 a.m. the attackers had broken down the doors of the church and entered the living area of the Pastors family. Fearing for his life, the Pastor had fled. The men had slapped his wife and cut off her hair with a sword in the presence of her children, an 8-year old boy and a girl of 3 years. Thereafter they had set fire to some of the furniture.
