ICC Note:  Al-Shabaab militants reportedly beheaded an unknown number of soldiers after attacking another Somali militsry base Sunday, just days following an assault on an African Union (AU) establishment.  The fighting in the Somalian army base lasted for several hours and left at least 9 soldiers dead.  The jihadist Islamic terrorist organization has vowed to supplant the Somalian government by 2016 and institute Islamic rule over the country.  Al-Shabaab has ramped up attacks since the start of the Muslim holy month of Ramadan.  Before the beginning of the holiday, al-Shabaab publicized its intent to murder Christians and other “non-believers” throughout the month.
