Strength in Numbers
07/01/2021 Washington D.C. (International Christian Concern) – As a leading voice for oppressed Christians around the world, ICC serves the persecuted by providing assistance overseas and advocacy in the United States. Soon, ICC will join forces with major political figures and organizations for the first International Religious Freedom Summit.
Christians and other religious minorities around the world face unthinkable persecution. The Summit provides the opportunity for organizations to collaborate and push back on governments that continuously persecute their own citizens.
The agenda will cover topics ranging from the legal aspects of persecution to the problem of religious genocide taking place around the world with the goal of empowering the global religious freedom movement by encouraging civil society engagement.
As a part of the Summit, ICC will host its annual Policy Day, focusing on the egregious violations of religious freedom in India. Since Prime Minister Modi took power in 2014, ICC has tracked a staggering increase in violence against Christians.
Hindu extremists who wish to make India an exclusively Hindu country at the expense of its many religious minorities target Christians by leveraging anti-conversion laws. These extremists thrive on vilifying Christians and other religious minorities to cast them as outsiders.
The Summit will highlight major religious freedom challenges facing Christians and other religious minorities, and help organizations work together to push back on governments that continue to persecute their own citizens. A variety of guests will speak at the Summit including members of Congress, scholars, activists, and other members of the international religious freedom community.
Former US Ambassador for International Religious Freedom Sam Brownback, Templeton Religion Trust, Alliance Defending Freedom, Open Doors USA, Samaritan’s Purse, Family Research Council, and several other organizations will gather in Washington D.C. from July 13-15.
The Summit offers the opportunity for ICC to partner with like-minded organizations and push back against Modi and his radical following.
ICC will be live-streaming the event online in addition to hosting a small group of in-person attendees. Registration and more information is available at irfsummit.com. Policy Day will take place on July 15, the final day of the Summit.
