12/20/2019 Nigeria (International Christian Concern) – On December 17, Pastor Kayode Shogbesan was abducted during his return home from teaching at Modibbo Adama University of Technology. Gunmen kidnapped the unsuspecting pastor of Redeemed Christian Church of God in Yola. Pastor Shogbesan’s family was unaware that anything was awry until the abductors called his family and notified them.

A search team was mobilized but unfortunately has so far been unable to locate him. No ransom request or reason was given to Shogbesan’s abduction.

This week’s abduction in Adamawa state adds to the increased kidnappings occurring in the area, which borders the Cameroonian border. Another university professor and chaplain, Felix Illesanmi, was arrested in November. He was released a few days later after he was abandoned by his abductors.
