02/07/2019 Nigeria (International Christian Concern) – Nigeria’s election season has historically been a time of violence and corruption. In addition, Boko Haram and Fulani militants continue their reign of violence in Nigeria’s northern and middle belt regions with little opposition from the government. The country’s Christians are concerned that the upcoming elections will be no different.

Aso Villa Chapel, a church in Nigeria’s capital of Abuja, has recognized these concerns and has jumpstarted a 30-day non-stop praise vigil according to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN). The vigil began on February 3 and will run non-stop through March 2, 24 hours a day. The church has requested others to join them for prayer and worship until the last day of elections.

Pastor Seyi Malomo, the lead pastor of Aso Villa Chapel, said, “All stakeholders must realize that it is God that ordains rulers, it is not just a political party.

The church aims to seek God’s will in the upcoming elections by praying for peace and stability. Nigeria may face some difficult times in the near future, but these Christians intend to be faithful and prepared.
