11/10/2018 China (International Christian Concern) – Shao Zhumin, the Bishop of Wenzhou in China, was kidnapped by police yesterday morning around 9 AM. Police officials say that he will be kept away from the diocese for “10 to 15 days”. During this period, it is expected that Bishop Shao will undergo interrogation and indoctrination.

This is the 5th time the Bishop has been taken away by governmentofficials in the last two years alone. Although, he belongs to the Catholic community  not recognized by the government, he is recognized by the Holy See as the Bishop of Wenzhou.

Since he has not submitted to the religious policy in China and has repeatedly refused to join the state-sanctioned Catholic Patriotic Association, , he is  greatly appreciated in his community.

The church is asking everyone to pray for Bishop Shao.
