10/30/2018 China (International Christian Concern) – On October 21, a group of Chinese police officers broke into the Yongfu Church, located in the Fujian province, during a Sunday service. Although the police claimed they were there to “enforce the laws”, their primary motive was to harass the attendees inside.

When the police officers entered the building they did so without consent of the church or any official documentation stating they could. They continued to check all the rooms in the church while refusing to show any identification.

When confronted by the church’s pastor, the officers shouted that the service should stop and everyone should leave and not attend the church anymore. In the chaos, a mother and her one-year-old child were engaged in a dispute with a female government agent which left the child with a hurt eye.

Before the authorities left, they collected the personal information of those in attendance. Afterwards they stated that they would be back the following week, leaving the congregation to wonder why the government is treating them in this way for their faith.
