Middle Eastern Christians Share Gospel in Post-ISIS Communities
10/16/2018 Middle East (International Christian Concern) – Christians in the Middle East continue to share their faith despite the great dangers they face. Although ISIS has been defeated, the extremist group still lives on in the minds of many people. Those who have had the ability to return home following ISIS occupation return to a place they can no longer recognize.
When ISIS started their campaign, Christians and other minorities were forced to flee. For many believers, areas previously occupied by ISIS are still extremely unsafe for Christians. In areas like this, one could be killed for simply showing their faith. Many Muslim villages do not want Christians to return.
Despite the hostility and extreme persecution, their faith only grows stronger. Believers do not only continue to share the Gospel, but also show love to their persecutors as well.
Although it is difficult to pray over those that caused one so much harm, the believers in the Middle East continue to share Christ’s love with their persecutors through prayer and unconditional forgiveness. To these people, it is an honor to face persecution in the service of the Lord their God.
