Outside the Church: Christian Social Service in China

ICC Note: The role and perception of Christians in China has changed in the last few years. It was not until recently, the Christians in China began to serve and preach outside of their churches. They’ve encounter many challenges and oppression from the government and sometimes their communities, but they continue to expand their love.

8/20/2018 China(CCD) – For a long time, in the eyes of traditional Chinese churches affected by fundamentalism and conservatism, the church’s main responsibilities are to preach the gospel, save souls, nurture congregations, and reach out.

Most activities are inside the church, seldom occurring outside the four walls. “Should the church enter into society? How to step into society? Is that Christians have to stay in the church pious?” These are the problems today’s churches face.
