ICC Note: Increasing attacks in India are catching the attention of the international community. During the week between Palm Sunday and Easter this year, Hindu radicals attacked Christians at least ten times. We hope this increasing violence against Christians and other religious minorities will cause the international community to take a stand against India’s religious freedom violations.

04/22/2018 Pakistan (One News Now) – This past Easter holiday was a very difficult one for believers in India. International Christian Concern documented that between Palm Sunday and Easter, ten attacks took place. ICC regional manager William Stark says there were likely many more attacks than what they could confirm.

“I’m sure really the ten that we documented were just the tip of the iceberg,” he says, “so I would say this past Easter has been one of the more difficult holiday periods for Christians in recent years.”

Stark tells OneNewsNow that he hopes that more publicity of these attacks by Hindu radicals on Christians will catch the attention of other governments.

“A lot of countries in the international community are becoming more interested, or perhaps the better word is more concerned, about India and the religious freedom violations that are going on there,” he shares.
