Boko Haram Claim 5 Lives and Injure 9 in Double Suicide Bombing

ICC Note: Boko Haram has killed another five and injured nine in Borno State. Two women suicide bombers attempted to enter a marketplace, but were stopped. When they were caught, they detonated their bombs.

03/15/2018 Nigeria (Daily Post) – Police in Maiduguri, the Borno state capital has confirmed that two female suicide bombers in an attempt to infiltrate into Alikaramanti area of the state capital, after Giwa Barracks were intercepted by security operatives on duty.

According to a statement released to journalists on Thursday, the Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Joseph Kwaji said, when the suicide bombers were intercepted, they hurriedly detonated the IED strapped to their bodies, killing themselves and injuring nine others.

He said, the police EOD have rendered the area safe as corpses and injured victims had been evacuated to the hospital.

Earlier, residents around Giwa Barrack told newsmen that suicide bombers infiltrated the area at about 8:00pm on Wednesday, and have detonated explosives strap to their bodies in which five people, including the suicide bomber died while scores sustained injuries.
