ICC Note:

Boko Haram, based in Nigeria, has expanded its reign of terror into the restive Cameroon northern region. A double suicide attack killed six civilians in addition to the two bombers. This is the third such attack this month and it is feared that Boko Haram attacks will become a regular occurrence in this once calm area of Cameroon.

06/22/2017 Cameroon (Africa News) – A source close to Cameroon’s security forces on Wednesday said a double suicide attack launched by Boko Haram insurgents, killed six civilians in the country’s restive Far North region.

Two of the attackers died.

The blasts happened in Kolofata, where nine people died in a double suicide bombing in early June.

Another security source confirmed the death toll, but no further details were immediately available.

Cameroon’s North has regularly been hit by the Nigeria-based Boko Haram jihadists.

The Far North region, which borders Nigeria, has seen a resurgence in attacks blamed on Boko Haram after months of relative calm, reports News24.
