Nigerian Government reveals new plan to fight Boko Haram

ICC Note: Boko Haram has brutally attacked, kidnapped, and killed Christians and other groups in Nigeria for decades. The Nigerian government has made several attempts to fight the terrorist organization, but without success. However, the government has implemented new techniques to defeat Boko Haram and has purchased new equipment to fight the radicals.   

04/25/2017, Nigeria (News 24) – Nigeria’s air force has shown off new assets it says will be used to combat the Boko Haram insurgency in its north and oil militants in its south.

The West African nation’s air force over the weekend demonstrated a new attack helicopter during 53rd anniversary celebrations.

The chief of defense staff, Abayomi Gabriel Olonishakin, says the military now can “deliver appropriate firepower at the right time and at the right place.”
