ICC Note: Another military base has been attacked by the Islamic terrorist members of Boko Haram. Even though the government claims progress in the defeat of the militants, they continue to expand and attack the north-east region of the country. Additionally, at least 900 churches have been destroyed by the jihadists as part of their objective to drive out Christians from the north-east region, where they carry out the majority of their attacks.
02/07/2017, Nigeria (Naij.com) – Daily Trust reports that the insurgents attacked the town located 27 kilometers to Damaturu and burned down practically the entire town.
The insurgents also reportedly attacked a military base in the town and drove out the military men there.
Daily Trust reports that the attack occurred around 6:00pm on Monday several hours after earlier reports that the insurgents had stormed the village in three Hilux vans and two motorcycles.
It quoted a source that escaped from the town as saying that the community was burned to the ground by the insurgents.
