Amnesty International Publishes Report on Pakistan’s Notorious Blasphemy Laws

Amnesty International has published a report regarding Pakistan’s notorious blasphemy laws. The report, titled “As Good as Dead,” reviews the dangers of Pakistan’s blasphemy laws and details some of the cases in which the laws have been abused. Human rights activists widely agree that Pakistan’s blasphemy laws are widely abuses and often are used by individuals to settle personal scores, eliminate business rivals, or incite religious hatred against minority communities. Will this new report on the blasphemy laws push Pakistan towards reform? 
01/04/2017 Pakistan (Catholic Culture) – Amnesty International has published “As Good as Dead,” a 68-page report on Pakistan’s laws against blasphemy.
“The majority of blasphemy cases are based on false accusations stemming from property issues or other personal or family vendettas, rather than genuine instances of blasphemy, and they inevitably lead to mob violence against the entire community,” the report stated, quoting a judicial decision.
