ICC Note:

Christians across Pakistan were able to celebrate and enjoy a peaceful Christmas holiday yesterday full of vigor and enthusiasm. According to reports from Pakistan, Christians from across the country were able to participate in Christmas celebrations without any attacks from terrorist groups. Recently, major Christian holidays have been a dark time for Christians in Pakistan. In 2016, Christians were attacked by Taliban militants while celebrating Easter in Lahore. In 2015, two churches in a majority Christian neighborhood of Lahore were bombed, again by Taliban militants.

12/26/2016 Pakistan (The Express Tribune) – Christians celebrated Christmas across Pakistan with full vigor and enthusiasm.

Houses were decorated with colorful lights, flags, and balloons. Christmas trees were set up, gifts were purchased for children and prayers were offered for the peace and prosperity of the country.

Ahead of Christmas, Minister for Railways Khawaja Saad Rafique also inaugurated a special Christmas train to spread the message of peace and love and to overcome intolerance towards different religions.
