House church shut down in Zheijiang

Chinese government officials ordered a house church in Zheijiang province to be closed, claiming that they were meeting in an unregistered venue. The Zheijiang province, which has many Christians in it, has been the target of a renewed crackdown on Christianity in China. It also serves as a testing ground for program mean to suppress Christian activity. In 2014, Zheijiang implemented the “Three Rectifications and One Demolition” campaign in which some churches had their crosses removed and others were destroyed.
11/14/2016 China (China Aid) – Government officials closed a house church in China’s coastal Zhejiang province on Sept. 29, attesting it held religious activities in an unregistered venue.
The owners of the fourth and fifth floors of a business center in Shaoxing, Zhejiang received a notice from the authorities on Sept. 29, alleging that their building was unregistered and ordered them to immediately stop all religious activities.
When a China Aid reporter attempted to contact the local government office, he was told to call back after China’s National Day, which is Oct. 1.
