ICC Note:

A Chinese university enforced Beijing’s strong stance against religious activity. A sign displayed on a university lawn instructs students to keep noise levels down, keep the area clean, and reminds them that religious activities are prohibited. China Aid observes that this sign contradicts Chinese law, which states that no public organization “may compel citizens to believe in, or not believe in, any religion; nor may discriminate against citizens who believe in, or do not believe in, any religion.”

11/11/2016 China (China Aid) – A prominent Chinese university in Beijing recently erected a sign forbidding religious activities on campus, violating its students, faculty, and staff’s state-sanctioned right to religious belief.

Renmin University of China, one of the most renowned schools in Chinese higher education, displayed a sign that requested quiet, maintenance of the cleanly environment, and no religious activities on campus.
