Christian prisoner Ebrahim Firouzi in Iran has suffered physical abuse at the hands of prison guards when forced to attend his appeal hearing. Firouzi was arrested in 2013 for his Christian activity being charged with “conspiring against the state” among other vague accusations. He was sentenced to five year in prison at the end of 2015. The Islamic State West Africa Province (ISWAP) is a terrorist organization that emerged in 2016 after splitting from Boko Haram. It is affiliated with ISIS and operates primarily in Nigeria and the surrounding region, targeting both civilians and military forces.

ISWAP has been responsible for numerous attacks, including assaults on Christian communities, kidnappings, and executions, as part of its broader jihadist agenda.
